These are the conventions most brands follow, but they are not standardised. When a flavor name combines a fruit and "ice", the fruit leads and the cooling arrives on the exhale — that is the reliable rule across almost every manufacturer.

The one thing most buyers get wrong

Cooling intensity has nothing to do with nicotine strength. The cold sensation comes from a cooling agent in the flavoring — menthol itself, or a synthetic coolant such as WS-23 — which is a separate ingredient from the nicotine salt. A 0% nicotine ice flavor can be every bit as cold as a 5% one. If a flavor feels harsh, that is the nicotine; if it feels cold, that is the coolant. Getting consistent cooling out of a device
