Miami Mint is one of two mint pods on the Geek Bar Mate, and it is the softer, sweeter one. Here is how it tastes, how it compares to Cool Mint and to the Miami Mint you may know from Geek Bar disposables, and which kit you need before you can use it.
What Geek Bar Mate Miami Mint tastes like
Miami Mint on the Mate is a smooth mint with a light tropical brightness. Reviewers describe a clean, cool mint with little fruit sweetness, and several pick up a citrus note on the exhale. There is no fruit body; the tropical side is a lift, not a flavor of its own.
The cooling is medium. It is gentler than Cool Mint, which has more menthol, and less cold than the iced fruit pods like Sour Apple Ice. It is also a little sweeter than Cool Mint. That makes Miami Mint the mint pod for people who want the taste of mint more than the cold.
Regular Mode vs Pulse Mode with Miami Mint
The Mate has two parts: a rechargeable device with a 900 mAh battery and the screen, and a 15 mL pod with the liquid, a 1.1 ohm dual mesh coil and its own 200 mAh battery. Pods snap on magnetically. The 60,000-puff rating covers the platform in Regular Mode across pods, not one pod.
In Regular Mode the mint is smooth and even. Pulse Mode runs at higher output for denser vapor and a stronger hit, and with a mint that mostly means more cold and more flavor. A mint does not turn syrupy at higher output the way some fruit does, so Miami Mint suits Pulse Mode; it does empty the pod faster.

How Miami Mint compares to the pods next to it
Miami Mint vs Cool Mint
Cool Mint is mint with no sweetness and the strongest cooling in the Mate lineup. Miami Mint is softer, a little sweeter and less cold, with a light tropical note. Pick Cool Mint for maximum cold; pick Miami Mint if Cool Mint feels like too much.
Miami Mint vs Sour Apple Ice
Sour Apple Ice is tart green apple with a cold finish, and it is colder than Miami Mint. If you want a cold pod with fruit and a sour edge, go Sour Apple Ice. If you want cold without fruit, Miami Mint.
Mate pod vs Geek Bar disposable Miami Mint
Our Pulse X Miami Mint review covers the disposable version. On the Pulse X it is one of the colder flavors in the lineup; on the Mate, where Cool Mint is also on the menu, it sits in the middle.
Who should buy the Mate Miami Mint pod, and who should not
Buy it if you want a mint pod that is smooth rather than sharp, with a little sweetness, or a mint to alternate with fruit pods. Skip it if you want the coldest pod (Cool Mint) or a cold fruit (Sour Apple Ice or Blue Razz Ice).

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a kit to use the Miami Mint pod?
Yes. The pod runs on a Mate device, which holds the main battery and the screen. The $19.99 kit includes the device and one pod; kits are in stock now in Blue Razz Ice and Sky Blue Ice. Add Miami Mint pods at $13.99.
What is the difference between Miami Mint and Cool Mint?
Cool Mint is plain mint with no sweetness and the strongest cooling on the Mate. Miami Mint is softer, a little sweeter and less cold, with a light tropical or citrus note.
How many puffs does one pod last?
Geek Bar rates the Mate platform at 60,000 puffs in Regular Mode. That figure is for the system across pods, not for a single pod, so we do not quote a per-pod number.
Is the Mate Miami Mint pod very cold?
It is a medium cooling level: gentler than Cool Mint and the iced fruit pods such as Sour Apple Ice.
